Same old same old, and hmv.com were having a bad week and knowing what a sucker i am towards music they decided to send me an email about up coming releases and in the last was an old fav of mine, OMD, way back form the early eighties thinking this was another version of a best of i still decided to check it out and was suprised to see that this was all new songs from the band. The band had written a review of there own album and it read well sounded interesting and worth a listen…(i know they would say that wouldnt they) so i was sucked in and pre ordered the album which is due for release this Monday…..After this i felt i had wasted my time and money as all the old bands who suddenly try to release a few songs always ends in tears and a poor album….
Well this morning the CD arrived “History of Modern”and i went through the process of ripping to laptop and adding to ipod thinking i bet i listen to 2 or 3 songs and thats the last it will be heard…..But how wrong i was and i am left thinking how come they waited so long to release a new ablum, its not old its not dated in fact its awesome, similar in a way to the previous albums but in another way its changed so much but its amazing and i would recomend a listen to anyone its well worth buying and adding to any ipod…The tracks that have stuck to me since i started to listen this afternoon (now on its fourth listen) The Right Side? RFWK, History of Modern (Part one), The History of Modern (Part Two) and Sometimes, i could name all thirteen tracks……
This album is awesome and i would recomend a listen and a purchase but i am guessing as Simon Cowell is not on the credits it wont get air play on the radio so guessing it wont get the recognition that it so deserves……..so go on spash out and treat yourself………
