HMV and Music……….

I have a love for music and would rather listen to music than watch television. I currently have 3 ipods a touch and 2 classics and the touch is now full so stuck in a draw somewhere until I work out what I want to do with it. I have a classic that is almost full and another classic just for new music. By that I mean music recently bought as I know last year I bought albums added to ipod and never listened to them.
The main reason for this blog is a few days ago I went to HMV in Oxford Street headed upstairs (away from the top 20 rubbish kids stuff Simon Powell rubbish!!!) I wondered round the rock section found a few albums from my list, The Decemberists and The Jayhawks, then wondered into the world section which is with the folk and country sections are, only to find three quarters of the section had empty shelves. I was disappointed but did find a Bhundi Boys album and a Benjamin Zephaniah album. So guess the rumours are true and HMV are in trouble.
If HMV are to close this will be a sad day as they are the last chain music store in the high street. Then the only place to buy music will be from the supermarkets. Now I for one won’t be able to do that as Tesco do not sell the music I love and want to buy and there I know way I will buy a boy or girl band album. I understand the internet has a part to play in this as its a cheaper option but then hmv.com are one of the big players in that market. I used HMV until recently when I found I got a faster cheaper service from Amazon.
So come on top bods at HMV come up with ideas to make the stores survive so the generations of the future know what its like to browse a record store and discover new music after all not all of us want to listen to what Simon Cowell wants us to listen too……

Cricket – I am so proud

Where do I start…..I am so proud of the England Cricket team…..This ashes tour has been amazing so many records broken….
The best part is this is a team of players….there is no one individual who is world class but its a team who play well together and are just awesome to watch….they all play so well and there is depth in the squad too so if someone is injured there is a replacement who is just as good waiting to take over…I don’t have a player of the tour just a team that I am so proud off as they all deserve equal credit for this achievement.
I have heard comments today saying the Aussies are not a good team, but that’s not our fault and you can only play the team that is sent to play you…but next time in the interest of fair play maybe the Aussies get 2 innings and England 1…oh I forgot we would still have won…
Things don’t get much better, I get to ring my Aussie mates and sledge and guess what the Aussies don’t like it….still going to see no1 Aussie mate in the autumn as he now works in New York he has missed the action as not on telly over there so will have to take him a DVD it would be rude not too.
I just want to say I am so proud of the England Cricket team and well done for this ashes win….you all deserve it and roll on summer 2013 when it all happens again. But next stop is the world cup in the spring and then India this summer and then we could be number 1 test playing nation in the world….How good will that be…Oh England football if you had half the passion determination and skill you might win something in the mean time move over for real decent sportsmen who are perfect role models….
So proud of you England Cricket and thank you….

update to New Year

Something that I should have added to my New Year blog last week and I can’t believe that’s its been a week, so much has happened since then and its all good stuff too.
Best part was a phone call just after 1 on new years morning that has lead to a phone call each day since and fingers crossed a get together next Saturday afternoon. Oh and a text with kisses just after midnight which was just as unexpected…..
But this blog is about my music and need to sort out my music into some kind of order after adding up I purchased 350 albums last year and some were never heard….this will change under a massive shake up which will see me have 1 ipod touch 64 gb and 2 ipod classics 180gb, and one other as yet to be decided…so far this year I have purchased 25 albums….
Best bit is there are £750.00 of apple vouchers in the safe at work that have been promised to me when the company go under…could be as early as next monday….but this will go towards an apple mac for my photography…

Wordless Wednesday….anyone care to say what this is……
